An App Now on our Menu!

We are proud to announce that the Istanbul Eats iPhone application is finally here!

For almost a year we’ve been sorting through comments and suggestions from our readers to help us develop the ultimate iphone application for Istanbul Eats. We know Istanbul is a tough city to navigate, so our app’s mapping system will steer you into your destination lunch with GPS. With the nearby feature you’ll find the kebab, manti or baklava nearest you all over the city. You can search through more than 100 carefully selected restaurant reviews according to your interest, be it a specific neighborhood, restaurant type or special feature like places with views, places to splurge on, vegetarian-friendly restaurants and much more.

You also might notice the new name we’re using on this application, Culinary Backstreets.  As some of our regular readers may already know, we’ve recently launched CulinaryBackstreets.com, a website where we’ve partnered up with some of the most knowledgeable and passionate food writers and bloggers across the globe. Dispatching from Istanbul, Athens, Shanghai, Barcelona and (coming soon) Mexico City, Culinary Backstreets is a community of readers and writers who follow their stomachs to the next destination, as well as a hotline for the hungry traveler, bedside reading for the foodie voyeur, and a heavily bookmarked index for those who live among the culinary backstreets featured in our pages. In case you haven’t already done so, please be sure to visit this new site and let us know what you think.
