It is no coincidence that today, April 1, Istanbul Eats celebrates its one-year anniversary. When our site went active one year ago with our first post, a review of Beyoğlu greasy spoon Lades 2 [2], we thought, “Well, if this site never takes off, we can describe the whole thing as an elaborate April Fool’s Day joke.” Almost 100 original restaurant reviews later, we’re still here and eating more than ever. And today, we’ll be eating cake – or, better yet, a happy birthday chicken breast pudding – at our first stop, Lades 2.
