NewsBreaking News: Körfez to Close
Here at Istanbul Eats, we’ve been procrastinating on a review of the venerable Bosphorus fine dining and high-living establishment Körfez. From the private boat shuttle that takes diners across the Bosphorus to the small, Asian-side cove that is the restaurant’s home, to the delicious sea bass baked in salt, Körfez is one of the most memorable meals in Istanbul – although it’s a memory that can set you back no less than $100 per person. Still, it is among our top choices for an elegant night out.
We just received news that Körfez’s last fish will be served on July 22, 2009. The building was sold and will be converted into a private residence. If you’ve been vaguely planning to go to Körfez for a long while (as we have), your time is running out.
You can read a review here.
